Welcome to HauntJaunts.net’s new blog! Well, it’s not new. It’s still going to have the same Haunt Jaunts content as before, but it’s got a new look and address.
I would have set up using WordPress to start with, but back when I first launched Haunt Jaunts I was still doing chemo. My energy was very limited, as was my capacity for learning new things.
WordPress confused me at first. I had a host for HauntJaunts.net, but didn’t understand how to utilize it to set up the blog too. Blogger made setting up a blog a cinch. So…that’s what I started with.
But then I started understanding WordPress and knew I’d rather use it. It would allow me to do some things I couldn’t before, such as display recent comments and recent posts, as well as have different pages.
OLD POSTS, NEW POSTS
You may have noticed that the Archives and Categories are all full…with posts from the other blog. I figured out how to import them. They didn’t all transfer over nice and neat, so bear that in mind if you happen to look around and see a lot of formatting errors. If you need one with cleaner copy, refer to the old blog.
As I mentioned above, the old posts are all categorized, but not tagged. The newer posts will both be categorized and tagged.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
