Clix is a free-to-consumer multi-platform streaming company that champions top series and movies on major streaming platforms. It aims to guide viewers to content and streaming services that best match their tastes. Clix is also a promotional venue for theatrically released feature films. Basically, they know entertainment. That’s why I was curious about the 20 shows that made their list of top streaming series for 2022. Would it include any horror or supernatural shows?
I was also curious how they arrived at 20. To me, it sounded like an impossible task because, let’s face it. Some huge shows released in 2022, including award-winning and binge-able sequels like Bridgerton season 2, The Boys season 3, Stranger Things season 4, Ozark season 4, Only Murders in the Building season 2, The White Lotus season 2, and Barry season 3.
And that’s just some of the returning shows. There were plenty of new debuts, too, like Wednesday, From, Black Bird, The Resort, House of the Dragon, Star Wars: Andor, The Last of Us, and so many others.
Then there was the impressive big-screen talent. Shows boasted names like Sylvester Stallone, Steve Martin, Ray Liotta, Amanda Seyfried, Ewan McGregor, Taron Egerton, Andrew Garfield, Henry Winkler, and John C. Reilly.
Nope. I do not envy whoever’s task it was to try and narrow it all down to a mere 20 series. But somehow, they did.
Before we check it all out, let’s review the methodology they used to compile their list.
Clix’s Methodology for Picking 2022’s Top Streaming Series
Clix picks for the top 20 streaming series in 2022 included must-watch video entertainment across all genres and studios. The Clix team reviewed several industry categories to choose the streaming leaders, including popular trending, critical commentary, acting performance, directing, cinematography, editing, and writing quality.

Were any of the series you enjoyed in 2022 on the list? Were there any you were surprised not to see?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
We didn’t have Netflix for 2022. Maybe next year!
That might not be such a bad thing because you sure get a lot of reading and writing done not having Netflix to distract you!
