I’m going to have to go back and see if “Unpacking the Episode” is among The White Lotus season 1 extras. If it was, I missed it —and missed out on more fun. Season 2 has it, and I’m obsessed. They’re so much fun to watch. That’s where the other actors have revealed which White Lotus character they’d pick to vacation with.

Before we talk about who that is, let’s first cover what this fun show extra is all about.

Unpacking the White Lotus Season 2 Episodes

So far, there have been five The White Lotus season 2 episodes. After each follows two things, (a) a sneak peek at what’s ahead in the next episode, and (2) the “Unpacking” extra. Well, with the exception of the first episode. It still had the “Unpacking” extra, but instead of a next episode preview, it gave a “What’s ahead this season” short preview.

But each “Unpacking” has been a pair of actors, usually the ones who are traveling together on the show. With the exception of episode 4, which features Adam DiMarco and Leo Woodall. They’re traveling with others, not together. They’re sort of the lone dogs or third wheels of their groups. DiMarco’s character “Albie Di Grasso” is traveling with his father and grandpa. Leo Woodall’s character “Jack” is traveling with his wealthy gay “uncle” and his entourage. Albie and Jack are also about the same age, so it makes sense they’d be paired up together.

Anyway, “Unpacking” always starts with the actors revealing a little more about the series overall, the episode specifically, or their characters and their interpretations of them. Sometimes it’s a combo of those things.

But then there’s a vacation Q&A segment that includes three of the following questions:

  1. Which White Lotus character would you travel with?
  2. Check your bags or carry-on only?
  3. Set your alarm or sleep in?
  4. Plan everything or go with the flow?
  5. What is your go-to vacation beverage?

So far. There are at least two more episodes to go, so there may be some new vacation Q&A questions coming in those. But the one that’s consistently kicked off each vacay Q&A so far is that first one, “Which White Lotus character would you travel with?”

And there’s one character who has so far been picked most often.

Everyone Wants to Travel with Jennifer Coolidge’s Character

Here’s who everyone picked from the episodes that have aired so far:

Episode 1

Haley Lu Richardson (who plays Tanya’s assistant Portia) said she’d rather go alone than with anyone other than maybe Lucia (played by Simona Tabasco).

Episode 2

Aubrey Plaza (as Harper Spiller) picked Jennifer Coolidge’s character Tanya McQuoid-Hunt “because she’s drunk the whole time. She’s fun and people who have that kind of chaotic energy, it is soothing to me. Because it feels like all the drama is over there. I’m just watching the show.”

EXPLORE MORE:  Wait. Jaws isn't technically a horror movie?

Will Sharpe (who plays Harper’s husband Ethan) said, “She [Tanya] seems like someone who would kind of make friends. ‘Cause she seems to be traveling on her own quite a lot.”

Episode 3

F. Murray Abraham and Michael Imperioli picked Coolidge too. Abraham said, “Jennifer’s character just tickles me to death.”

Imperioli agreed, “Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing.”

Episode 4

Leo Woodall picked his own character, Jack, because “he’s just fun.”

Adam DiMarco said he didn’t want to steal Woodall’s answer, but he had to go with Jack too. “Jack’s a fun time.”

Episode 5

Meghann Fahy (as Daphne Sullivan) said, “I think I would take Coolidge.”

Theo James, who plays Daphne’s husband Cameron, said, “Mm. Could be a laugh.” But his pick was ultimately “sweet Adam.” He also would’ve been Fahy’s second choice.

The Totals

Lucia: 1

Albie: 1

Jack: 2

Tanya: 4

So there you have it. Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge, is the character so many of the other White Lotus season 2 actors say they’d like to travel with. But will that number shift after the remaining episodes and their “Unpacking” segments air?

We’ll have to wait and see. But there’s one more question I have about travel companions from this show.

Who would Jennifer Coolidge want to travel with?

If Coolidge picked, they didn’t reveal her answer in her “Unpacking” segment. I wonder who she’d say? Herself or someone else?

Check-In

If you’re watching the show, which The White Lotus season 2 character would you want to go on vacation with?

If you’re not watching but read this post out of curiosity, here’s a question for you: Have you ever been to Sicily?

  1. I have never been to Sicily. The hubster has. He’s more traveled than I am because he grew up as an Army brat and then joined the Air Force in college.

  2. Author

Oh wow! So he’s probably seen the world! Or at least has the chance to. So cool! (If he liked it that is. Some people don’t like all the moving around. lol)

  3. I would either want to go with Aubrey Plaza or Alexandra Daddario because I love beautiful women. It’s that simple. By the way, when I enter my website, why does it tell me to “Enter a URL”? So I can never enter it. My website IS a URL. You might want to take a look into that. Thanks, and take care. Troy

  4. Author

Can’t fault you for your reasoning why you would pick either of those two lovely ladies, Troy. lol

And I’m not sure what’s happening that it won’t let you enter your website’s URL. If I can see what the issue is I’ll answer back here with the solution.

  5. Thank you, Courtney. I would add a pic if I could so you could see what it is doing and better understand the glitch.

BTW, since it was a “pay thing,” and I don’t need to be paying on a regular basis, I decided to do the Meet Up thing that you suggested when I gathered some money at the beginning of the month (today) and then follow through with it to see how it pans out. Wish me luck! I’ve had a paranormal team before in another state, but we were all together before we formed it. In this case, I am starting with just my wife & I, and we want to, eventually, make this one big and expansive. Really, though, it can’t be that hard to find people who want to investigate the paranormal. I hear folks talk about it all the time on social media. They live far away, but they discuss dying to be a part of it none the less.

Oh shoot. Does Meet Up require you to pay? I didn’t know that and it’s good to know it does. I just know some friends who use it but I never really have. But I hope it does help you find people. I thought of another suggestion too…Do you have Nextdoor? They have groups on there too, not just for your immediate neighborhood but for your city. I know in nashville there’s a film club, astronomy, and so many other groups that connect through that app. There may already be a paranormal group by you on there, but if not…you could start one. But even if there was, it’d be another way to catch up with folks and see who you gel with and get it growing that way too. Good luck!
