I came across a great article on WDW News Today that made me want to immediately book a ticket for Orlando for this weekend. It was about one day only photo ops, experiences and snacks at The Haunted Mansion on April 13. It’s to celebrate the the Haunted Mansion becoming the 13th attraction with Disney PhotoPass at Walt Disney World Resort.
Photo Spots
- Near the exit of the Haunted Mansion: Starting at 9 a.m. through daylight hours, you can pose with a “Tomb Sweet Tomb” photo prop, and also get an Animated Magic Shot. After sundown, get a shot with the caretaker’s lantern.
- Near the hearse in front of the Haunted Mansion: A photographer can capture the Hitchhiking Ghosts in your photos. All day and night starting at 9 a.m.
- Near the entrance to the Liberty Square Riverboat: Get your head in the game with a Hatbox Ghost Magic Shot at this photo stop. All day and night starting at 9 a.m.
- Outside Memento Mori: Orbs (Mickey Mouse-ear shaped, of course) swirl around the mansion after dark. That’s when you’ll find a photographer here to capture you with those shots.
Visit Memento Mori to purchase your photos. The chilling cost is $13.13 plus tax.
Snack Time
If you work up an appetite for something spooktacular and sweet from all the jaunting and photo taking, Liberty Square Market is where you’ll find the Midnight Fright Delight “browkie.” It’s a brownie decorated to look like the Haunted Mansion’s creepy grandfather clock.
Like this working, glow-in-the-dark, miniature Haunted Mansion Clock figurine that you can get on Amazon.
Music
And what would a celebration be without tunes? The Cadaver Dans ghostly quartet will rise from the dead to “conjure up scary good tunes” after dark in Liberty Square.
If you love the Haunted Mansion too, now do you see why I was ready to immediately book a flight to get in on this haunting good time? Sounds like a blast!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Wow! the Haunted Mansion becoming the 13th attraction with Disney PhotoPass at Walt Disney World Resort.
