What kind of party would our HJ Halloween 2016 Festivities be if we didn’t include a costume contest?

That’s right. We want to see you all decked out in your Halloween finest!

Categories

We’ll be awarding trophies and medals in the following seven categories:

1. Funniest Costume
2. Scariest Costume
3. Most Original
4. Best Couple Costumes
5. Best Group Costumes – Get your co-workers or family (including pets!) in on the act!
6. Most Original
7. Most Spooktacular – Note: It doesn’t have to be spooky necessarily. It just has to have a WOW factor that blows us away. (Basically think of this one as our Best Costume category.)

Prizes

We’ve got some amazing prizes for this contest. We’re talking genuine 24k plastic gold trophies and medals to award the winners. (See Skellie’s photo above. He’s sporting one of the medals around his neck.)

How to Enter

From now until Monday October 31, all you have to do is:

• Tag yourself in a photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MyHJSelfie.

Just like that, you’ll be entered!

Winners will be announced on Tuesday November 1, 2016.

FAQs

Q. Do I have to specify which category I want to enter?

A: Not if you don’t want to. If you really want to try and win for a certain category, feel free to name it. Otherwise we’ll just award trophies as we see fit for each category.

Q. How many times can I enter?

A. If you are dressing up in more than one costume this Halloween and you want to tag yourself each time, go for it! No limits on number of costumes or categories.

Q. Say I have a scary costume that I want to pose in separately, but also as part of a group. Can I enter myself twice?

A. You sure can! Just be sure to submit two photos. One by yourself, and another with your group. And be sure to tag them each time with #MyHJSelfie.

Q. A lot of cities and communities are banning scary clown costumes. Will your contest discriminate against or ban such costumes too?

A. Nope. Since we’re an online forum that pretty much leaves it open for you to dress as you see fit. (But, please, be wearing something other than a mask. We don’t want to see anyone’s junk, thank you very much!)
