I’m on schedule to post the winner of the Crazy Dog T-Shirt giveaway, since I said it would be today. But I apologize for combining it with the winner announcement for the Mrs. B’s Haunted Blog Tour Giveaway. I was supposed to announce that winner yesterday.

WHY THE WINNER DRAWING WAS DELAYED

My computer crashed late Thursday afternoon. After calling around I found out I could order a fix-it disk from my computer’s manufacturer…but I’d have to wait 7-10 business days to get it.

Seeing as I’m smack dab in the middle of my Halloween party, that was simply not acceptable. I got prizes to giveaway after all don’t you know!

Paying someone else to fix it was also an option…except that was going to cost quite a bit. And I’d still be down a computer for who knew how long. (Less than 7 business days, but that was still too long.)

TAKE THAT, UNIVERSE!

As I joked on HJ’s Facebook page, “Good try, Universe, but you can’t hold a party girl down!”

Rather than spending all that money paying someone else to fix something I should be able to fix myself, I opted to do two things:

  1. Still order the disk and wait the 7-10 business day,
  2. Buy a new computer. I love my other one (even if it has Vista on it) and I’ll go back to using it as my main squeeze when I get it working right, but I decided I really should have “just in case” solution too.

Ha! Take that, Universe. Who’s laughing now?

I AM, PARTY GIRL!

Trouble was, I got the new computer home Friday, set it up and instantly ran into all sorts of problems. I called tech support twice and after the second call when they still couldn’t fix my problem, they said I needed to take the computer back and exchange it.

So I packed it up this morning and spent almost two hours in Best Buy with a Geek Squad agent trying to figure out what was wrong. Turned out the new computer had a bad hard drive!

Curse you, Universe, you Halloween party pooper!

NO MORE HICCUPS?

But they exchanged it out for a new one. So far this second new computer seems to be working okay. {furiously knocking on wood}

Hopefully this will be the last of the Spooktacular Halloween Blog Party hiccups. (I’m not betting on it though. If you’ve been around for my other parties you know I can’t throw one without being plagued by hiccups…and unfortunately they’re not caused from indulging in too much punch either!)

THE LUCKY WINNERS ARE…

Combined on one video. (If you’re new to HJ giveaways, I like to record winner drawings so you can see I really am drawing names.)

And since I don’t record them for my health, if you want to kn0w who won, you have to watch. (Or wait for the winner to be posted in the sidebar. I always add a winner section to watever party widget I’ve got posted.)

The next giveaway will be anounced soon. Stay tuned…
